Paris White costs about 3 cents per pound. Soak 4 ounces of glue in 1 quart of warm water for 24 hours. Then add 1 pint water, and then place the tin can in a vessel of water (glue pot fashion, hot water) over a fire, agitate till [until] all dissolved and perfectly clear. Put 5 or 6 pounds of Paris White in a large Bucket, and thicken with hot water, till [until] like cream Then mix the glue water with it and put on with a common whitewash Brush. Put on smoothly.
