uncommonly lean.
-- "Kalsoming" [Kalsomining]---
Kalsoming The plaster is made of Paris White mixed
[Kalsomining] with fine clear white glue. Paris White
costs about 3 cents per pound. Soak 4 ounces
of glue in 1 quart of warm water for 24
hours. Then add 1 pint water, and then
place the tin can in a vessel of water
(glue pot fashion, hot water) over a
fire, agitate till [until] all dissolved and
perfectly clear. Put 5 or 6 pounds of
Paris White in a large Bucket, and
thicken with hot water, till [until] like cream
Then mix the glue water with it and
put on with a common whitewash
Brush. Put on smoothly. When too
thick, reduce with warm water.
The above is enough for 2 coats for
a room 18 foot square. It is best
to give 2 coats.
